Old Boot Sofas has been making timeless, handcrafted furniture since 2011.
In April 2024, we proudly took the reins of the brand and remain committed to its core values: proper craftsmanship, honest materials, and outstanding comfort.

Although smaller, armchairs are often just as complex as sofas—sometimes more so, depending on the shape, structure, and detailing.
Every chair is built with the same solid hardwood frame, premium leather or fabric, and precise attention to detail.
They’re mini masterpieces, and they take time and skill to get just right.

Every sofa and chair is built on a foundation of solid beech or birch timber, which is:
- Air-dried or kiln-dried hardwood timber to ensure stability
- Responsibly sourced from FSC-certified forests
- Built to last—we guarantee our frames for 25 years
No shortcuts. Just good, honest materials from the inside out.
What are the cushions filled with?

All Old Boot seat cushions are crafted for everyday comfort and long-lasting shape.
We use a high-resilience foam core wrapped in a soft, pocketed fibre topper, giving you the perfect balance of support and laid-back comfort. The result? A gently lived-in look that gets better with age.
Can I have firmer or softer cushions?
Can I have firmer or softer cushions?
Yes—you absolutely can. That said through years of experience we feel that our standard cushion infills offer the perfect balance of support, comfort and durability.
That said we understand that comfort is personal, so if required we’re happy to adjust your cushion fill to be firmer or softer based on your preference.
Just let us know during your order and we’ll discuss the options to tailor it accordingly.
Is the sofa bed firmer than the regular sofa?
Is the sofa bed firmer than the regular sofa?
Yes—sofa beds naturally have a firmer seat due to the integrated metal action frame beneath.
That said, we design ours with a comfort base layer beneath the seat cushions, which softens the feel for everyday lounging. It won’t be quite as soft as a non-bed model, but it still makes a great seat when not in sleep mode. For more information please contact our sales team.
Can I change the feet or remove the castors?
Can I change the feet or remove the castors?
Yes—most of our foot styles are interchangeable, and you can choose whether to have them with or without castors, at no extra cost. If you’re unsure which will suit your home best, we’re happy to advise, but be aware that some foot changes can alter the final seat height of your sofa. Our sales team are happy to advise you, just get in contact.
Can I change the foot colour?
Yes—the standard finish is medium walnut, but we have other stains and colours available on request*. If you need to match to flooring or other furniture, we’re happy to help find the right tone. To discuss options please contact our sales team before ordering.

Yes—our full collection of leathers and fabrics is available across ALL designs*.
We can also upholster in your own material or help you source something specific from the UK’s top fabric houses and Italian tanneries.
We have a huge catalogue of non-standard leather and fabric options at our Matlock showroom for you to review and select from or you can specify a leather or fabric of your choice. There are also often a wider range of colours available than our standard options for all our leather and fabric ranges.

Please note: that we will always advise on the suitability of bespoke options as some materials are not suitable for upholstery. Its vitally important for us to ensure each and every piece we make carries the necessary quality and performance we ensure from our own standard material options which have been carefully selected from many years of experience.
