Our workshop
Where character takes shape — one sofa at a time, in Lancashire.

The traditional heartland of British upholstery
Every Old Boot sofa begins long before the first piece of leather is cut. It starts in our Lancashire workshop — a part of the country with generations of upholstery behind it — where skilled hands still make furniture one piece at a time.

The part you never see
Most customers never see the frame being built — but it's where every Old Boot sofa really begins. Rather than importing frames made thousands of miles away, ours are built on site in our own frame shop, each one made specifically for the sofa it will become.
We use kiln-dried hardwood, joined the traditional way and reinforced at the points that matter, so the frame stays true for decades of daily use. It's slower and more expensive than buying frames in — but it's the foundation everything else is built on, and it's not a corner we're willing to cut.
From our workshop to your home
Every sofa follows the same path — built to order, by hand, and checked over before it leaves us. It's how we've always done things.
