Returns and refunds

We want you to be happy with your Old Boot sofa. If something isn't right — or if you've simply changed your mind — here's how returns and refunds work.

Changed your mind

If your sofa has been delivered and you've decided it isn't for you, you can return it within 28 days of delivery for a full refund. Just email us at help@oldbootsofas.com and we'll arrange collection.

A few things to know:

The sofa must be returned in the condition it was delivered. Any damage caused after delivery may be deducted from your refund.

Collection is free if you let our delivery team know on the day they bring your sofa to you. After that, a collection charge of £75 applies.

You'll need to allow us access to collect the sofa within 14 days of cancelling.

Once we've collected the sofa, we'll process your refund within 21 working days.

Bespoke and custom orders

Sofas made in your own fabric or leather, to non-standard dimensions, or with other bespoke specifications cannot be returned once delivered. These are built specifically for you and can't be resold. Your statutory rights for faulty goods are unaffected.

Faulty or damaged goods

Inspect your sofa as soon as it arrives. If anything is damaged, defective, or doesn't match what you ordered, email help@oldbootsofas.com within 28 days and we'll sort it out — repair, replacement, or full refund including delivery costs, whichever fits the situation.

Outlet items

Sofas bought from our outlet sales can be returned within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. A collection charge equivalent to the original delivery cost will be deducted from your refund. Sofas viewed in person before purchase are sold as seen and can't be returned.

Our guarantees

Every Old Boot sofa is built to last. Our guarantees reflect that:

  • Hardwood frames are guaranteed for 25 years against structural and manufacturing faults.
  • Upholstery — including craftsmanship, fillings, springs, and suspension — is guaranteed for 5 years.
  • Footstools are guaranteed for 10 years.
  • Cubes and pods are guaranteed for 2 years.
  • Scatter cushions and accessories are guaranteed for 1 year.

The guarantee covers structural and manufacturing faults — it doesn't cover damage from misuse, neglect, sunlight fading, pets, or harsh cleaning products.

The guarantee starts from the date of delivery, applies to the original buyer, and is valid for sofas in normal domestic use. If you're using your sofa in a commercial setting, let us know at the time of order — different terms apply.

This policy sits alongside your rights under UK consumer law. Nothing here affects those rights.
